How did you get into indoor cycling?

My whole experience in getting into indoor cycling came about as being asked to participate in the Children’s Tumor Foundation’s Dancing With Our Stars. I wanted to help but knew I would have trouble dancing with the extra weight I was carrying. So I said yes knowing this would make me get into shape for a good cause and myself. I immediately went looking for a gym and this started the beginning of my indoor cycling.

What changes/results can you attribute to indoor cycling?

I lost 40 pounds the first three months, and then over the next two years lost another 25 pounds for a total of a 65-pound loss … As a result, I can breath better, walk longer, feel healthier and of course, dance. As a result of cycling and loss of weight, I won “Dancing With Our Stars” three years ago. With this weight loss, you not only feel better and good for your health, but you get just a little of your confidence back.

How often do you ride?

I ride every day I can. I started off just trying to do six miles, then 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 to 20 miles a day. I feel cheated now if I do not get cycling in my daily routine. You have to make the commitment to the routine and to yourself.

Where do you do so?

I joined Clubhaus! It was the best move I ever made. Many times before I joined and was not faithful to workout. Clubhaus has many wonderful types of equipment, it is very clean and has the most amazing employees and owners … If I am in town, I will be there daily on my bike. Depending on the amount of time, I will do between 12 and 20 miles a day. Love it!

Why do you recommend indoor cycling?

I was able to lose 65 pounds, but the reasons I like indoor cycling are numerous: It is safe, [you] do not have to fight traffic; do not have to worry about the elements; you are not alone and if you need help, someone is there to assist; do not have to worry about breakdown in equipment (if one is not working, move over to the next); you can watch TV or listen to whatever you wish and not have to worry about looking where you are going; do not have to worry about getting hurt because of rough terrain.

Finally, I like it because it is fun, makes you feel good and helps keep those unwanted pounds off!
